    Description

This is a no reserve auction!
You are looking at a pair of
    U.S. Military Multipurpose Rain Trousers.
Dated 12 August 1965. Made of the classic coated nylon twill of the age. Snap button fly. Belt loops. Scrunch ankles with elastic bands inside. Measured roughly at 32" Waist, 26" Inseam, 40" Length.
What is interesting about these pants is that...I don't think they should exist. The way they are stitched together, it looks as though someone (did a really good job at) making these pair of pants out of the United State's Multipurpose Rain Poncho from early Vietnam War. The one that acts both as a poncho and, given enough, snapped together as a tent. The snap buttons in the fly are very heavy duty and look actively cut from something else. The information stamp is mostly inside the leg, but is cut off with the rest of it on a different set of material within the waistband. All signs seem to point to handmade by someone who knew what they were doing.
This could all be very wrong, my research may have just come up short on this one.
