MAGE KNIGHT Minis; SHYFT types; SWOOPING INVADER x2; SWOOPING SNIPER x2. See below regarding wings:This auction is for a set of 4 figurines.
NOTE: THESE FIGURINES NORMALLY RIDE WINGED DEMONIC HORSES. THE WINGS ARE REMOVABLE. PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME WINGS ARE MISSING. I CAN ONLY PROVIDE 3 WINGS. THESE UNITS ARE USED AND WHEN I BOUGHT THEM THE WINGS WERE MISSING. WITH 3 WINGS, YOU CAN OUTFIT ONE FIGURE FULLY, AND ANOTHER WITH ONE WING (A WOUNDED WARRIOR SO TO SPEAK). NO WINGS FOR THE OTHER 2, HOWEVER, I HONESTLY THINK THE FIGURINES ARE FINE LOOKING WITHOUT THE WINGS. JUST SO YOU KNOW.
ALSO, One of the "dragon teeth" on one of the clubs of one of the Swooping Invaders is broken off. You can see it in one of the screenshots. Instead of 3 teeth, the club has 2. Maybe he got good use out of bashing the club on "something" and there is now some critter running around in the countryside with a dragon tooth embedded in it ?
Another note regarding the wings. The Swooping Invaders (the ones with clubs) were not really well sculpted to handle wings. I have several of these figurines in my own collection, and almost all of them have the base of the club directly over one of the slots that the left side wing would normally fit into. Thus, it is almost impossible to really put the wing in because of the club. Poor product design in my opinion. This is not a problem with the Swooping Snipers. One of the pictures I provided shows the wings on a Sniper.
These figures look like mini barbarian Draconums riding on top of demonic looking horses. Technically, these figurines are known as "The Shyft". The creatures are reptilian in nature and are in fact originally derived from an "Apocalypse Dragon", so that sort of makes them Draconums or related. Their history is convoluted, and though I don't play the Mage Knight Game, I came up with the following on their history:
***** OVERVIEW
1.0 era:
" The Shyft - Devious assassins, mind-altering empaths, and three-eyed ruling Matriarchs make up the Shyft's martial forces. The Shyft are naturally empathic and, in their bid for power, use their psychic powers to unite and control Mage Spawn monsters throughout the land. The shyft often win their battles by tricking two enemies into fighting on another, until one or both are weak enough to be defeated by the Shyft's deadly warriors."
In 1.0 they were reptilian and basically dungeon dwellers attacking surface dwellers was an unusual event and often occurred only as they were enlisted by a surface dwelling faction to bring Mage Spawn under control.
From the 2.0 era:
From the Apocalypse Dragon rule sheet
In the Age of Mists, the Apocalypse Dragon birthed thousands of twisted Mage Spawn and led them on a rampage that laid waste to the entire Land. The Dragon was finally defeated by mighty heroes in an epic battle that shook the world, and the egg that survived has been guarded by the Draconum for centuries lest it be hatched. Yet now the Shyft have captured the egg, and the Apocalypse Dragon has been reborn!
As its rampage begins anew, the heroes and warlords of the Land must once again face the Dragon on the battlefield.

***** GAME INFO
SWOOPING SNIPER
Game Play Information for the Swooping Sniper
The Swooping Sniper is a fast ranged attack warrior perfect for infiltrating an opponent’s backfield and harassing their support figures. Flight allows it to avoid terrain obstacles and position itself for an attack against poorly defended enemy healers and mages. The strong attack of the Sniper means success is likely, even if it achieves only 1 click of damage. If cornered, the Sniper’s high defense and Magic Retaliation ability make it difficult for opposing figures to launch a sustained attack on this figure before it can escape.
Overview:
Shyft Heart Seekers that have performed their duties well are allowed to have Flying Horses as mounts. Firing a dartgun from the back of a Flying Horse takes skill and practice.
SWOOPING INVADER
Game Play Information for the Swooping Invader
The high speed and great defense values of the fast-flying Swooping Invader allow it to engage only in the fights it chooses and avoid unfavorable encounters. Given its high attack capabilities, it makes short work of the lesser figures it combats. With an initial speed value of 12, the Swooping Invader is a natural formation leader for Mage Spawn with a similar speed value. The Shade and the Wraith from the Rebellion set and the Specter from Lancers are good examples of possible formation companions for this Shyft warrior.
Overview:
Shyft Bond Makers that have performed their duties well are allowed to have Flying Horses as mounts. The Flying Horses react well to empathic commands, though the Shyft’s natural spurs can also be used in an emergency.
*****
Two of the figurines have blowpipe weapons, and the other 2 are sporting a homemade club with Dragon Teeth(?) spikes. Specifics follow:
These are all from the WHIRLWIND Set; c2001:
SWOOPING INVADER; #131; x2
SWOOPING SNIPER; #125; x2
The figurines are in good condition. Nothing broken or busted that I could see (aside from missing 5 wings). They have basically been stored for years in boxes. That said, they are not new, but used, because I bought them as used many years ago, and just stored them away. I did a massive inventory of my stuff recently and pulled these off as spares.
Let me know if you have any questions. I am selling other figurines (mostly Mage Knight and D&D Minis), so take a look at my other auctions. I will combine shipping if you win more than one auction. Shipping is a flat .25. Thanks.
