    Description

This is an Original Civil War Union Enlistedman's Waist Belt and Brass Keeper in Relic/Attic Condition as Found in a Local Estate here in Florida.
The belt has been folded (see pictures) for generations but is complete with only one minor tear (see the last two photos). The leather is scuffed, dirty, flaked but still pretty flexible for its age and the dry conditions it was stored in over the years. One end of the belt is folded over using the original brass keeper which was used to adjust the length to the soldier's waist measurement. You can clearly see the green oxidation (verdigris) the leather and brass has acquired over its many years of storage. The waistbelt's total length is 38" and the width is just under 2".
The belt will need some care, love and work to bring it back to presentable condition, but this is a terrific opportunity to put original "leather" on that Civil War Union oval "US" belt plate that's been in your collection.
I expect this should sell for a VERY reasonable price.
This is a NO RESERVE auction starting at {{detail_product_description}}.99. Good luck.
