Beautiful 100% silk, Robert Talbott designed necktie created for judges and VIPs at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance, the 62nd anniversary of this event. Tie will be shipped in a black tie box. SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS BELOW.
This is an exceptional tie with a beautiful texture reminiscent of Talbott's Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin neckwear from years past. A sturdy bronze-colored geometric weave provides a striking background for the Mercer shield and car profile that appear in the diamonds formed by blue and white diagonal lines. A wonderfully elegant, striking, and solid tie — superior in every way to the lightweight printed silk tie also produced for last year's Concours.
In excellent condition from the collection of a long-time judge. Worn on the day of the show and stored hanging to avoid fold marks from storage. Two signs of wear: a light abrasion on the face of the tie, difficult to discern except at low angles (see the first empty diamond in the lower left part of the second-to-last photo); and minor evidence of stretching around the knot area (see last photo). Tie measures 57" (145cm) in length, and 3.5" (9cm) at its widest.
