    Description

    TMI Grolier Min Max III Teaching Machine. This comes from the behaviorist era of teaching, an early example of programmed instruction. These machines made quite a splash for a short time. This one includes part of a programmed set of pages to teach spelling. It's in good shape cosmetically, though the gears don't quite engage the paper any more. Some adjustment needed.
    I've used this to illustrate the early days of educational technology in my courses and presentations. It serves well as a prop for that. You're probably not going to try to learn spelling with this.
