UPDATE 2: 6-20-2020. Its just time; this mic is a match for any k mic in the world - it’s just amazing. Price needs to reflects its quality the detail component selection that has gone into this model.
WE HAVE BEEN THOROUGHLY TESTING THIS SETUP AND I MUST SAY WE ARE AMAZED! Primarily using an Avalon 737 we have gotten very solid tracs. Sibilants and transients seem to be no issue the mic seems to want fill up the sound-scape instead of clip which is exactly why we selected the tube we did. The Thiersch PVC capsules are incredible, and true to the original U47 sound - very well balanced combination with our premium German 7037 hand made military grade tube, and shielded output transformer, and hybrid capacitors. I have to say the results are incredible. We are able to actually boost bass and cut high mids to get a phenomenally warm male vocal sound without muddiness.
We have installed a 34 mm Thiersch BLUE Capsule (PVC skin) and now a German hand made, military grade 7025 premium tube on our WEIRD 47 which created a very special sounding instrument. Beautiful airy and full presence, full rich presence. Research Siegfried Thiersch- and his company’s relationship to Neuman and Telefunken.Siegfried serviced the Gefell made Neuman and Telefunken capsules for Neuman for many years before crafting his replica of the original capsule.  The very first capsules featured PVC diaphragms.
The big microphone companies don't exist as they did before.  They have been bought and sold and now sell knock offs of the original legends! We achieve as good or better sound at a fraction of the cost.
