Vietnam Era US Army M1967 Nylon Rifle Ammunition Pouch - 1st Pattern for 20rd Magazines - Most Dated 1968 or 1969 - Excellent Condition - RARE
Up for Auction is a Vietnam Era US Army M1967 Nylon Rifle Ammunition Pouch.  It is the 1st Pattern Nylon pouch for the 20rd Magazines.  The pouch is complete with the suspender strap, the internal strap and both grenade straps.  They have the alice clips on the back.  No rips or tears.  Most are Contact Dated 1968 or 1969 or 1969, on the ones that the date is legible.  There are a few in the early 1970's.
The 1st pattern rifle ammunition case was produced in nylon rather than cotton and featured a plastic spring catch fastener. Like its
predecessor
it was designed to accommodate four 20-round
magazines
for the Colt Rifle.
The pouch attached to the
pistol belt
via two slide keepers and had a supporting strap that clipped to the metal loop on the
suspenders
.  In common with the majority of ammunition cases it had strips on both sides for attaching hand
grenades.
