Original Vietnam Era US Army Bianchi M66 Belt Holster for the Colt M1911A1 .45acp Pistol - RARE - Very Nice Condition
Up for sale is an Original Vietnam Era US Army Bianchi M66 Belt Holster.  This holster is used, see photo's for Condition.  This holster shows very little evidence of prior usage.  The leather is soft and supple, with no rips or tears.  The US Logo marking on both sides of the flap. Under the belt loop is the manufacturer markings "Bianchi M66". This is an ambidextros (right or left hand) holster.  This holster will fit the Colt M1911 or M1911A1 Pistol.
This was a unique holster that was introduced in 1970.  It featured a removable flap that also has the ability to swivel up or down without removing in order to draw the weapon.  The holster had a belt loop on each side, making the holster usable on either the right or left side of the pistol belt.  The holster was designed for the standard Colt M1911 .45acp Pistol, but could also fit the Browning Hi Power or the S&W Model 39/59 series pistols.  This holster was never officially adopted for general useage, but was tested and used by several special purpose military units and personnel.  This limited usage makes this holster RARE and difficult to find.   This holster is missing from most US Vietnam military collections
