· 1st pattern (c. 1968), the zipper closure without Velcro. ("Snap Button" closure)
· Polyurethane stiffeners are located in the fifth layer of the ballistic nylon. (Previously, the ballistic nylon had the tendency to become bunched up, greatly reducing protection.)
· This vest, known to some collectors as the "122-series".
