  • Condition: We found 3 clusters of moth bites that allow light to pass when the blanket is placed against the sun, but have not completely pierced the wool yet. There are two small stains (pic # 6 & 7) and some very faint, long stains that might be folding marks (one barely visible on pic # 8). Example of one of the clusters of bites (the largest cluster) in shown on pic # 12.

    Description

    It measures 80" by 65" across, and weighs 4 1/2 lbs unboxed. The bed is a queen, 80" by 60".
    We are not sure if this is a Vietnam War era blanket or from other period in the  history of the Navy. The blanket does not have a label.
    Those who know about militaria might be able to date the blanket with precision looking at the way the stencils were applied (or they might not be stencils, as they are visible on both sides of the blanket, as shown on the pics).
